Projects

CRIIS has supported some 30 project across the city over the last 2 years, working with Creatives and community groups and establishing new Creative Enterprises.

Our main strands have been Film, Music and Theatre.

Film

A number of organisations have been supported with film projects:

to name but a few, all of which have engaged with local communities in the film making process, providing key work placement training and employment opportunities for local people.

Theatre

We are currently working with Studio Salford to deliver some specialist provision to help them develop their successful nights at The Kings Arms in Salford. We have also supported work with Turnz Theatre Group who work closely with local businesses running workshops on team building and confidence building as well as running provision for local children and young people.

As well as our established links with the 24/7 Theatre Festival.

Music

We have supported the start up of Swerve Records to support new small unsigned bands in Salford and provided help to The Duchy Youth and Community project towards their Beatz 'n' Deckz workshops which works with youth and DJing skills and skills in basic music production.

We have worked with Manchester District Music Archive to secure website space for this exciting project, and will look to support it further through development, reflecting Salford's rich musical heritage.
